The Pleasantville Police Department is part of the community, empowered by the people and committed to justice by action. Our mission is to protect and preserve the lives, property, and constitutional rights of all. We are dedicated to our duty of maintaining peace and order, reducing crime and the fear of crime, providing a sense of safety and security, solving problems and enforcing the law

We embrace the values of knowledge, courage, and integrity in our commitment to maintaining the public trust. Our partnership with other members of the community make it possible to operate a public service organization, working in cooperation with community agencies and groups to promote understanding of, and confidence in, our efforts to be a trusted source of help.

Jose L Ruiz, Chief of Police

On behalf of the entire staff of the Pleasantville Police Department, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our official web site.

The police department is comprised of 48 sworn officers and 14 civilian staff.  Officers are assigned to patrol, traffic services, investigations, K-9 Unit and school resource officers.  Civilian staff includes records management, customer services, and provide emergency dispatching services for both Police and Fire Departments.  We are an Urban Enterprise Zone community.

The Pleasantville Police Department takes great pride in the professional standards that we adhere to.  Our officers are equipped with the latest technological equipment and receive constant training to enhance our performance in accomplishing our vision and mission.

Our surrounding communities are Atlantic City, Northfield City, Absecon City, and Egg Harbor Township.  We have three (3) major road arteries that come through our community, Black Horse Pike, Atlantic City Expressway and Delilah Road that merges with the White Horse Pike going in and out of Atlantic City.

Our department is a strong supporter of Community Policing Philosophy.  We embrace our officers and the community to work together and encourage a cohesive relationship so we may make our community a pleasure to live, work and visit.

So, please take your time exploring our site and the services that we provide.  As changes take place we will keep you updated and informed.  It is our hope that you visit us often on this site and stay involved in making the community of Pleasantville a safe and secure community
